A lively book about Isai Maiyam

A visual introduction to the Isai Maiyam Foundation

Journalist Anne Bakker and photographer Annelore van Herwijnen visited us in India in February 2025 to write a book about ISAI MAIYAM (music centre) free of charge. The book turned out beautifully! 

We are a small NGO that is completely dependent on donations. Unfortunately, donations have declined in the past year, making it difficult for us to meet our ongoing costs and investments. That is why we created this book: a visual introduction to the Isai Maiyam Foundation.

We invite you to read it and enjoy these beautiful, sweet and pure people, who have so little but give so much in terms of commitment and enthusiasm!

This book aims to give an impression of the organization and introduces the people who make Isai Maiyam what it is: from the visionary founder to the kindhearted people that work there and the children who’s lives have been positively affected.
Each person has played—and continues to play—a unique role in the success of Isai Maiyam. They are its heart and soul. Each one is important.

“I just love my job. Always meeting new people and places. Working with a great team and some fun. For me it is important that the scene seems real. I prefer to have everything under control; both lighting and direction, to get the image we want.
In my personal work I prefer to search for the silence, curious about why people do the things they do. With a craving for techniques and colours of my childhood.”
